GERARD ROY (OWNER AND GENERAL MANAGER)
Gerard is currently the General Manager of the Farmington Falcons 13-15 year-old travel baseball team. Along with his duties with the Falcons, he is also a coach for the Unionville Legion baseball team. Gerard is a member of the Farmington High School booster club, and executive board member of the FYBL, and supervisor and board member for Vantis/Farmington Bank Baseball League. Gerard was a former scholar athlete at Stonehill College (1988).
BRIAN PENDERGAST (DIRECTOR OF BASEBALL OPERATIONS)
Brian is the current pitching coach at Farmington High School and is also an assistant coach for the CT Bluejays. Brian played baseball for and graduated from Fordham University. Some of his notable wins in his collegiate career were against #11 University of Miami and #25 University of North Carolina- Charolette and he has been honored with awards including Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American, NECBL All-Star, A-10 Pitcher of the Week, and MAAC Pitcher of the Week. Brian has worked with several high level high school athletes, Division I, II, and III collegiate athletes, as well as professional athletes, most recently 8th round draft pick Neil Kozikowski and AAA Pitcher Matt Buschmann. As the founder of JEKL, a nueromuscular sports training program, Chris has 17 years of professional gymnastics coaching experience. He is also a current USA Gymnastics Professional Instructor. Chris is available for JEKL workout sessions and can be reached at (203) 346-8943.
Sara currently competes for the Canadian National Team. She has also played professional softball in the National Professional Fastpick League for the New York/New Jersey Comets. Sara is a 2012 graduate of the University of Massachusettes where she earned five All-America honors in four seasons as a pitcher. In 2012 she led the nation in strikeouts, strikeouts per seven innings, and fewest hits allowed per seven innings, while ranking fourth in victories with 36 and fifth in shutouts with 13. Sara finished her career with 1,622 strikeouts, eighth all-time in Division I and first all-time at UMass. She was also the Atlantic 10 Conference Player and Pitcher of the Year in 2012. Mike is the current head varsity baseball coach at Farmington High School. In his first year at the helm, the team finished runner-up in the Class L State Championship. In addition to his duties at Farmington High School, Coach McGuire has won three National Championships and has coached, mentored, and instructed hundreds of professional and college baseball players, including Houston Astros’ first round pick in the 2011 draft and the Boston Red Sox’s first round pick in the 2011 draft. MIKE MCGUIRE JR.
Mike Jr. completed a standout career at Division I Saint Peter’s College. He finished his career as the school’s all-time RBI leader, walks leader, and is the all-time leader in at-bats, plate appearances, games played, and games started. He is also second all-time in hits, doubles, and home runs in school history. Mike was named to the New Jersey College Association All Rookie Team and All-State Team while being named to the MAAC All-Academic Team from 2007 to 2009. He played summer ball for the Brainerd Blue Thunder in the collegiate affiliate Northwoods Baseball League. Mike is a three-time AAU National Champion (two as a coach, one as an athlete) and has coached numerous MLB Draft selections and Division I, II, and III athletes. Jason began offering professional baseball instruction in 2004 after a five-year professional baseball career with the Houston Astros and New York Yankees. He attended Central Connecticut State University on a four-year baseball scholarship. Jason was drafted as a middle infielder in the 23rd round by the Houston Astros in 1999. Jason played four seasons with the Astros and one season with the New York Yankees, reaching the Double-A level in both organizations. Jason played with numerous major leaguers such as Roy Oswalt, Lance Berkman, and Derek Jeter. Jason is currently in his 10th season as an assistant coach for the Northwest Catholic baseball team and works as a middle school Physical Education teacher in Meriden, CT.
